AUTUMN EQUINOX RETREAT 2022

Join myself and Lorna at the stunning Oxon Hoath in Tonbridge, Kent, for a weekend of yoga, meditation and breathwork to see in the new season.

All bookings are for the full weekend, and are inclusive of accommodation, delicious vegetarian food and up to 7 group classes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The word “equinox” comes from the Latin word for “equal night,” referring to the two times a year we have days with equal hours of day and night. During the equinox we honour the balance and interaction of the light and dark, and we may feel gratitude for the changes that come with the passing of time. During the autumn equinox, we can reflect on that which we would like to shed and let go of, as we enter a period of quiet rest and reflection following the busy summer months, allowing us to settle into a new equilibrium.

 

Oxon Hoath is a country estate surrounded by 73 acres of enchanting, peaceful gardens and woodland. It’s leafy location makes it an idyllic setting to retreat to and realign with the change of season through the practises of yoga.

 

The retreat begins on the eve of the equinox, where we welcome in the change of season through an evening yoga class at 6pm, with a later evening relaxation practise at 9.30pm following dinner. Throughout the weekend will be a choice of classes, accommodating everyone from beginners to intermediate/advance practitioners, incorporating various styles of asana, meditation and breathwork.

 

Myself and Lorna came together after embarking on our two year Yoga Therapy training with the world renowned Minded Institute in London. We hope for this to be just the first of many retreats together.

Lorna is a former London lawyer who has been teaching yoga for 18 years throughout London to children, teenagers and adults via private, group and corporate classes. She offers creative vinyasa flow sequences with time spent exploring alignment, breath and awareness for all irrespective of age or experience. Everyone is welcome and she aims to provide a safe nurturing environment balancing strength with flexibility and action with relaxation. Lorna’s teaching is pragmatic and grounded in many years of practice with an emphasis on having fun, being curious and feeling better physically, energetically and emotionally.

Arrival at Oxon Hoath is from late afternoon on Friday 23rd September (when Autumn equinox falls) to after lunch on Sunday 25th September. The price of this retreat starts at just £420 per person (based on shared accommodation). Rooms vary across this expansive building with single, double and ensuite rooms sold at additional supplements, with some limited premium rooms available.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, including Friday dinner, 3 meals on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. The focus of the food is simple and delicious, home cooked vegetarian food made lovingly by Oxon Hoath's chefs. Other special diets can be accommodated with at least 1 weeks’ notice.

 

As well as the scheduled practises and meals, there will be plenty of time throughout the day to relax and unwind, exploring the various grand rooms in Oxon Hoath and immersing yourself in the estate’s beautiful gardens and expansive grounds.
